The Other "White Christmas"

So the day after Christmas was a beautilful day so we decided to go to the beach. We went ot the condo and hung out by the pool and then walked down to the beach for sunset. It was so peaceful and as always perfect. No snow but a lot of white sand.

John's grandma and Aunt Cara flew down to Fl Christmas day so we decided to meet them in Cocoa Beach for the weekend. It was great spending time with them. They enjoyed Brian. Brian had a good time with them as well. This was John's (and Brian's) first time at Cocoa so we HAD to go to Ron Jon Surf Shop. (Really I just wanted to go). Then we just hung out at the beach and pool. It was great. It has been a while since we have gone away for the weekend like this. Brian enjoyed himself. He LOVES the pool. He will be learning to swim this next year...early! We are going to have fun this summer!

A Christmas to remember

Brian's first Christmas was very special. Of course we would have loved to have been with our whole family and have the traditional "white christmas", but since we decided to stay here we made the best of it. It started with Christmas Eve John and I baked the traditional Nestle tollhouse cookies and gave out to our nieghbors. Then we went to the candelight service at our church. It was a good time to show Brian the real meaning of Christmas. My sister and her family went and we spent time with several close friends we met at church. After the service we took Brian to see Christmas lights and then met my sister and her family at Chili's. Bailey and Skye were worried the whole time they wouldn't get to bed in time for Santa! They still had to bake cookies. So cute. We went home and put Brian to bed and tried to go to bed myself...I still get a little excited about Christmas morning. Brian FINALLY woke up at 7:30. I fed him while John made the hot cocoa. Then we read the story of Jesus birth from the bible and then opened the gifts. Diesel and Sadie both got new beds and a pig bone. (Trust me...they like it) Brian was so cute. It looked like he was really trying to open the presents...even though he just liked ripping paper. He got lots of wonderful new toys and clothes. John got Brian his first Jersey. Imagine his surprise when Colleen and Ryan got HIM one. He also got his sisters favorite cookies and traditional chocolate santa. Brian was so excited he was out again by 9:00am. Good thing because after his nap we drove over to Dearmas house for Christmas part two and a lovely dinner. We didn't get back home till about ten o'clock. It was a good day.

It's Christmas Time!

This past weekend was jammed packed with excitement. Friday night we took Brian to see the lighting of the Christmas tree at St. Armands circle. It was nice. We met some friends there and enjoyed the music and festivities. Saturday we went over to Chris and Sydneys house for the "Big Game". Florida won! Then we dropped Brian off at home for the first time with a babysitter. ( other than my mom or sister or Jennifer). Even though he was in bed a sleep before we left at 8:00 I missed him. But it did feel good to get out and not have to worry about him. Sunday we got up and was invited to a brunch after church and then Bailey's christmas play was in the evening. It was a good weekend. It is so nice to spend this time of year with our good friends. We are truely blessed. Brian is still such a good boy. He loves to sleep...and I'm not complaining. He is growing up so handsome. I know he is still young but he has reopened all those magical moments about Christmas and I can't wait to live it with him all over again through his eyes.
