The Other "White Christmas"

So the day after Christmas was a beautilful day so we decided to go to the beach. We went ot the condo and hung out by the pool and then walked down to the beach for sunset. It was so peaceful and as always perfect. No snow but a lot of white sand.

John's grandma and Aunt Cara flew down to Fl Christmas day so we decided to meet them in Cocoa Beach for the weekend. It was great spending time with them. They enjoyed Brian. Brian had a good time with them as well. This was John's (and Brian's) first time at Cocoa so we HAD to go to Ron Jon Surf Shop. (Really I just wanted to go). Then we just hung out at the beach and pool. It was great. It has been a while since we have gone away for the weekend like this. Brian enjoyed himself. He LOVES the pool. He will be learning to swim this next year...early! We are going to have fun this summer!

A Christmas to remember

Brian's first Christmas was very special. Of course we would have loved to have been with our whole family and have the traditional "white christmas", but since we decided to stay here we made the best of it. It started with Christmas Eve John and I baked the traditional Nestle tollhouse cookies and gave out to our nieghbors. Then we went to the candelight service at our church. It was a good time to show Brian the real meaning of Christmas. My sister and her family went and we spent time with several close friends we met at church. After the service we took Brian to see Christmas lights and then met my sister and her family at Chili's. Bailey and Skye were worried the whole time they wouldn't get to bed in time for Santa! They still had to bake cookies. So cute. We went home and put Brian to bed and tried to go to bed myself...I still get a little excited about Christmas morning. Brian FINALLY woke up at 7:30. I fed him while John made the hot cocoa. Then we read the story of Jesus birth from the bible and then opened the gifts. Diesel and Sadie both got new beds and a pig bone. (Trust me...they like it) Brian was so cute. It looked like he was really trying to open the presents...even though he just liked ripping paper. He got lots of wonderful new toys and clothes. John got Brian his first Jersey. Imagine his surprise when Colleen and Ryan got HIM one. He also got his sisters favorite cookies and traditional chocolate santa. Brian was so excited he was out again by 9:00am. Good thing because after his nap we drove over to Dearmas house for Christmas part two and a lovely dinner. We didn't get back home till about ten o'clock. It was a good day.

It's Christmas Time!

This past weekend was jammed packed with excitement. Friday night we took Brian to see the lighting of the Christmas tree at St. Armands circle. It was nice. We met some friends there and enjoyed the music and festivities. Saturday we went over to Chris and Sydneys house for the "Big Game". Florida won! Then we dropped Brian off at home for the first time with a babysitter. ( other than my mom or sister or Jennifer). Even though he was in bed a sleep before we left at 8:00 I missed him. But it did feel good to get out and not have to worry about him. Sunday we got up and was invited to a brunch after church and then Bailey's christmas play was in the evening. It was a good weekend. It is so nice to spend this time of year with our good friends. We are truely blessed. Brian is still such a good boy. He loves to sleep...and I'm not complaining. He is growing up so handsome. I know he is still young but he has reopened all those magical moments about Christmas and I can't wait to live it with him all over again through his eyes.

Pete's Wedding

This past Sunday Cousin Pete got married. This was the first time Brian got to see Uncle Peter, Aunt Effie, Pete, Debbie and all the cousins. It was great seeing the family. It has been about a year. It was very beautiful and we are so happy for Pete and Lauren. Uncle Peter was so happy to meet Brian he wouldn't put him down. It was a good day.

6 Months Old!

Wow! I can't believe how fast time is going. Brian is already 6 months old. He had his check up this past Wednesday...He is doing great. Other than his 6 month shots. He now weighs a whopping 16.14 pounds and is 27 inches in hieght. His personality just gets cuter and cuter. He is so layed back and smiles all the time. He sits up on his own now. He will stay in that position forever unless he looses his balance and falls back. He does get upset if he hits his head going back so I put his boppy behind him so he is good. He can't get into that position on his own though. I do see him get up on his hands and knees and lift his little butt in the air for a second. I think he is going to start crawling pretty soon. He has been drooling more than Diesel (if that is possible), but no teeth yet. He loves being stimulated with everything. He stares at Diesel and cracks up when he comes over and licks his toes. He is also fascinated by Sadie but she stays in her own little world following me around.

Everyday is a great day with Brian. We are enjoying him so much. It is amazing how fast they grow. It seems there is something new everyday. I am trying to relish every little phase he reaches. Oh, he has even said DA DA! He LOVES his daddy. He has his eye on him at all times when he is in the room. And those eyes!!! They just keep getting more blue. ( I love it!)

He laughs so much. Daddy knows how to push his button. He also gives the cutest hugs by grabbing our shirts with both his hands and nuzzeling his face into our chest. He is always reaching for anything that he can get a hold of. I forget that sometimes and he will grab for my drink if he is sitting on my lap. He is a great sleeper and a good eater. We thank God everyday for our son.

Happy Halloween!

Well, We had our first Halloween with Brian. I think John and I were more excited than he was. We went over to my sisters house and had a haunted hay ride which took the kids from house to house. As you can see we were Star Wars. It was John's idea to dress Brian as Yoda and it grew from there. We had a great time. Brian was mesmorized by the whole thing. He stared intently at everyone and everything. He didn't look scared. He just got sleepy. The weather was nice so he wasn't sweaty in the costume. It was great doing the whole carving the pupkin and trick-or-treating with him. Everything is that much more fun having him around. We are so excited that the Holiday season is here. I am going to try to make as many memories as I can...And it is only going to get better.

Pumpkin Time

This past Sunday we went to Hunsader Farm for the annual Pumpkin festival. We met some friends and family there and had a great time. Brian loves being outside and the weather was beautiful. John had tickets to the baseball game Sat and Sunday night so Brian and I met Dearma at the mall on Saturday. He is such a good boy. He has been drooling up a storm. I don't feel any teeth yet but he loves having his gums brushed. He has also started flipping onto his belly in the middle of the night and then getting upset and calling for his mommy to flip him over. I hope he learns quick to roll back on his own... he does it all the time during the day but I guess at night he is half a sleep. He is still sooo cute!

McDonalds

We went to the biggest McDonalds up in Orlando for the twins birthday party. They had a blast. One day Brian...you'll be one of those little rug rats running around in the oversized hamster maze.

Always something new!

Well, we had a really nice weekend just hanging out with daddy. He has been gone a lot training with his new job lately and got back in town on Friday. So we all just hung out all weekend and enjoyed being together. Brian is growing so fast. We can't keep up with all of his firsts. He tried oatmeal this weekend and loves it! He didn't like the rice cereal that much. Next week we will try some vegees :) He is also grabbing his toes and he sleeps on his side. He is turning into quite a wiggle worm. Bath time is still his favorite. And he is and has always been great at bedtime sleeping from 8:30-7am. His expressions are becoming more diverse. And he loves Diesel! He is so fascinated by him and laughs so hard when he licks his toes!
